Christmas in Paradise

Imagine spending Christmas, surrounded by family and friends, in a tropical paradise.

Where Santa is handing out gifts, while you sip on piña coladas and listen to festive music.

All the logistics are taken care of. No slaving away, cooking christmas dinner or worrying about organising seating arrangements and transport.

The Christmas feast is all prepared for you - and it’s delicious.

Everyone is relaxed, lying by the pool, reading a book, or taking leisurely strolls through the beautiful pine trees.

No, it’s not a fantasy land.

It’s Christmas in Norfolk Island!

Christmas doesn’t have to be stressful!

Christmas is my favourite time of year. I can’t decide what I love the most - the night before excitement, with the cookies and milk set out for Santa and family carols.

Or Christmas morning, watching the grandkids gasp in wonder at the footprints the reindeer left behind, then diving to unwrap their presents and show each and every one to us. Because heaven forbid we miss one!

But, I can’t deny, the day itself does often come with a certain degree of stress.

With a big family, trying to organise logistics and all the trimmings takes weeks of preparation.
What will we eat, where will we celebrate, how will everyone get there… the usual.

Well, since we started the group tour Christmas on Norfolk Island, we don’t have to worry about any of these things.

It’s the best of both worlds - we still get to sing our carols, we put the cookies out for Santa and we bask in the joy from our kids and grandkids.

But - we are all in the same place, so no travel logistics. There’s a fantastic Christmas breakfast AND lunch buffet provided, with a two course meal at the hotel for dinner.

The whole day is at your leisure, so you can relax and enjoy it.

Keep your special traditions

At Langley’s, we work to ensure your Christmas Day is exactly how you would like it to be. Whether that’s embracing all the new things to see and do, or bringing your traditional routine with you.

We will arrange for a bus to church, or any other arrangements you need to honour your special Christmas rituals.

Just let us know what you would like, and we will work to make it happen.

Fun fact: ABC Western Plains is the local radio station for Norfolk Island. So, (if your from Dubbo, like me) you can get your piece of local news while away! It feels like a little piece of home.

The perfect summer holiday.

All in all, it’s just a perfect week away.

The locals organise fantastic entertainment and shows. There is a bloke there who sings Elvis cover songs and honestly, he is the best I’ve ever heard. He completely nails it.

Jimmy Buffett is another local favourite, with several (distant) family members based on the Island, so his music is often in the background.

Don’t forget the year round favourites - the fish fry (which is a feast of Island dishes, salads, homemade bread & fresh fried fish,)  the historical tours and dinner at a haunted house.

And of course, beautiful days spent on the beach.

The locals have a session where they teach their visitors Tahitian dancing. I have been known to appear on the stage, just once. But I retired after taking out the crown years ago.

We do encourage anyone and everyone to volunteer if they wish - just don’t be offended if I laugh.

Other fantastic activities include a walk through the scenic Mt Bates, to the Captain Cook Monument. And a special orientation tour which covers visits to the historic Kingston, Cascade and Longridge.

See and hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches and golf course, the renowned Melanesian Chapel and the local Government laws and lifestyle.

New Year, No Worries!

We all know the pressure that often falls on New Years Eve - where you want to make it special, but you don’t want to deal with crowds and taxis and stress!

When you come on our Christmas in Norfolk Island Group Tour, your New Years plans are all set. We travel back to Sydney on New Years Eve (during the day) and spend the night in our fantastic accommodation in Sydney.

You can do what you like - share a champagne in your hotel, or head out and see the festivities.
